Franklin County Agriculture Society Grandstand

For more than 160 years, the Farmington Fairgrounds has evolved alongside the community it serves. This vision continues that tradition by creating a new focal point that strengthens connections across the site while enhancing the experience for visitors, participants, and volunteers. Rather than functioning solely as a venue for viewing races, the facility becomes an active part of the fairgrounds—drawing people together, supporting year-round flexibility, and reinforcing the identity of the Fair as a regional destination.

The organization of the new facility creates stronger relationships between the racetrack, midway, vendors, and support amenities. Spaces that were once disconnected are brought into closer dialogue, encouraging visitors to move more freely throughout the grounds and engage with a broader range of activities. By improving circulation and creating new opportunities for gathering, the design helps increase visibility for vendors, expands opportunities for revenue generation, and contributes to a more vibrant fair experience.
